INSTALLATION · OPERATION · GOVERNANCE
Four phases install the Desk. Seven stations run every job. One hold point governs everything that leaves. This sheet is the whole lifecycle — including the record the machine keeps of itself.
We prepare and ingest your firm's material as a governed corpus — isolated to your firm, with sources preserved.
A GOVERNED CORPUS YOUR DESK MAY RETRIEVE FROM — AND NOTHING ELSE MAY.Together we define the Desk: the workflow, the deliverable formats, the review policy, the permitted recipients.
THE MACHINE CONFIGURATION — YOUR DESK'S IDENTIFICATION RECORD.The configured Desk is manufactured from governed, published parts and installed in production, with API access.
AN IDENTIFIED, VERSIONED MACHINE, LIVE IN PRODUCTION.Matter & Gas operates the Desk for the first 90 days: monitoring, metering, and operating records throughout.
A RUNNING DESK WITH A COMPLETE OPERATING RECORD — THEN $1,500/MO PLUS METERED USAGE.Professional signs in. The Desk establishes firm and permissions.
Entitlement and subscription verified before any work begins.
Research, analyze, draft, critique — grounded in your knowledge.
Draft, evidence and the Desk's own critique prepared for inspection.
Consequential work stops here until your professional releases it.
Approved work leaves through permitted channels only.
Evidence, approval, delivery and cost are recorded.

SUBMISSION IS ACKNOWLEDGED IN SECONDS; THE WORK ITSELF IS A DURABLE JOB — A PROFESSIONAL CAN CLOSE THE LAPTOP AND RETURN TO THE SAME JOB AND ITS RESULT.
Approval is not a policy your staff must remember — it is a station the work cannot pass. The review policy decides which work stops there; the delivery binding decides where released work may go. Both are configuration, never a request-time choice.
THE MACHINE DRAFTS. THE PROFESSIONAL RELEASES. A REJECTED DRAFT RETURNS TO THE DESK WITH THE PROFESSIONAL'S NOTES — NOTHING SILENTLY PROCEEDS.
| R1ALL | Every deliverable holds for professional approval before it goes anywhere. |
| R2EXTERNAL-ONLY | Work leaving the firm holds; internal working documents flow freely. |
| R3NONE-INTERNAL | An internal-only Desk: nothing is ever delivered outside the firm at all. |
| D1DELIVERY BINDING | Approved recipients and channels only — enforced at the moment of release. |
Every job writes its own history as it runs: what was retrieved, what was drafted, who released it, where it went, and what each model call cost. The record is append-only — it is evidence, not a report we compose afterward.
Matter & Gas runs the machinery underneath your Desk: monitoring, model routing, metering, and the operating records. Models are components — we select, route and replace them without disturbing your configuration. Your firm uses the Desk; we keep it running.
Request a founding installation| M1MONITORING | The Desk's health and jobs, watched by the people who built it |
| M2MODEL ROUTING | Work-product calls run on the configured deep tier; routing stays governed |
| M3METERING | Every model call measured and priced against a published rate |
| M4CHANGE DISCIPLINE | Improvements ship as new manufactured versions — never silent edits |
